The i4d Film Festival is a one-of-its kind festival focusing on films which particularly talk about the use of any ICT tool in poverty alleviation, gender issues, health, sexuality, human rights, education, governance, etc.
The festival, along with the eINDIA2007 conference and exhibition, aims to raise awareness, discuss issues and highlight successes and failures in the domain of ICT for Development. We also aim to strengthen advocacy strategies that might include visual representations.
Panel discussions will bolster the interactive and communicative nature of the film festival. It will also help build capacity of those grassroots organisations who presently do not engage with the visual medium.
The organisers invite entries from independent filmmakers, production houses, animators, broadcast networks, organizations, journalists, students, educational institutions etc for the competitive Indian Category.
All the entries will get listed on both the website and festival directory. The finalist films of all category will be screened and promoted not only at the festival but also online on a public video viewing website.
To apply for the film festival, please fill the attached application form and send by email by or before 1 June 2007. Please also send a copy of the film in DVD format – to reach the organisers no later than 15 June 2007.
